Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Safety Engineering, Mining, Mechanical, or related field.
- 8+ years of EHS experience in heavy industry (mining background preferred), including overseas EHS lead roles; familiarity with conveyor systems or large equipment maintenance safety is a plus.
- Holder of a recognized safety certificate (e.g., National Certified Safety Engineer, NEBOSH, CSP).
- Fluent in English to conduct meetings, investigations, and write HSE reports independently.
- Ability to identify dynamic risks and implement preventive measures.
- Proven ability to drive safety culture in cross-cultural teams, leading by example.
- Clear communication of safety requirements across all levels; able to make calm decisions under pressure.
- Willingness for long-term overseas assignment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement EHS strategies, plans, and procedures aligned with ISO 45001/14001 and mining client requirements; conduct risk analysis and support safety audits.
- Control high-risk activities throughout their lifecycle, including work at height, LOTO, confined space entry, heavy lifting, and belt vulcanization; conduct daily inspections to correct unsafe behaviors.
- Build an EHS training system for employees and subcontractors focusing on risk identification and practice; organize safety meetings and case sharing to foster a “safety-first” culture.
- Develop mine-specific emergency plans for fire, collapse, equipment failure, and natural disasters; conduct drills; lead incident/near-miss investigations and track corrective actions.
- Review subcontractor EHS qualifications and on-site performance; ensure 100% compliance with local safety, environmental, and labor regulations.
