Field Repair Cases

Case 01

Underground Aramid Belt Edge Repair

Northern China Underground Coal Mine

Challenge

A flame-resistant aramid conveyor belt experienced severe edge damage underground, including a longitudinal cut approximately 10 meters in length and up to 5 mm in depth.

The repair had to be completed directly on site under underground mine conditions at approximately 22°C, while minimizing production downtime.

Solution

BOTON S01 Flame Resistant Repair Compound was applied for rapid on-site recovery of the damaged belt edge area.

The repair was completed using:

  • 5 × 500 g repair kits
  • On-site manual application
  • Fast-curing repair process designed for underground FRAS conveyor systems

Results

  • Repair completed within approximately 35 minutes
  • Conveyor returned to operation during the same maintenance window
  • Stable field performance maintained for more than 6 months
  • Reduced risk of further edge propagation and unplanned shutdown

Case 02

Underground Splice & Surface Wear Repair

Large Underground Mining Operation, Inner Mongolia, China

Challenge

Multiple underground conveyor systems showed localized splice wear and surface abrasion under continuous mining operation.

The affected belts included:

- Flame-resistant aramid belts
- Steel cord conveyor belts

Wear depth at splice areas reached approximately 2–3 mm, with additional localized surface damage observed across several belt sections.

Underground ambient temperature during repair was approximately 15°C.

Solution

BBOTON S01 Flame Resistant Repair Compound was used for rapid repair of:

  • Splice wear zones
  • Localized surface abrasion
  • Small damaged belt areas

The project utilized:

  • 80 × 500 g repair kits
  • Fast field repair procedures suitable for underground FRAS systems

Results

  • Typical splice repair completed within approximately 45 minutes
  • Localized surface repairs completed within approximately 35 minutes
  • Conveyor systems returned to operation with minimal interruption
  • Repaired areas maintained stable performance for more than 6 months
  • Reduced maintenance frequency and avoided extended downtime
