DEM Chute Design Service

Chute design with DEM simulation

Traditional chutes are mainly used to build a material transfer path from a higher conveyor to a lower conveyor. However, chute design should not only consider material flow, but also speed changes, impact, crushing, flow control, material loss, and chute wear.

Although some designs use the material itself to reduce wear and material loss on the chute wall, operating conditions are constantly changing. A simple material-flow design may still face challenges such as high crushing rates, excessive speed, and severe chute wall wear.

Boton Intelligence applies bulk material simulation technology to chute design. Using advanced simulation tools, we analyze the actual material flow and transfer process based on site conditions and technical requirements. Through simulation and optimization, we help ensure that each chute is designed and manufactured to match real operating conditions.

This capability is supported by Boton’s experienced engineering team, deep understanding of material properties, advanced design tools, and strong attention to detail.

Main Features & Benefits

  • Optimized head section design
  • Strong engineering capability
  • Streamlined chute body
  • Impact-reducing feeding spoon
  • Advanced simulation and design tools

Optimized head section design

The head section can be equipped with a collector and deflector according to site conditions, ensuring that the material enters the transfer chute tangentially at the best contact angle. This helps avoid direct impact and reduce abrasion.

Optimized head section design

Strong engineering capability

BOTON has years of experience in project management and construction, with professional qualifications in electromechanical engineering.

Strong engineering capability

Streamlined chute body

The chute body adopts a streamlined design, allowing material to flow along the wall in a concentrated and controlled state, so that soft landing can be achieved.

Streamlined chute body

Impact-reducing feeding spoon

According to working conditions, the feeding spoon can be designed with a forward-expanding and closing structure. It extends deep into the skirting system to minimize belt impact, suppress induced airflow, and reduce dust generation.

Advanced simulation and design tools

BOTON uses advanced bulk material simulation tools to optimize chute performance under real operating conditions.

The tools support GPU parallel acceleration, making the simulation process up to 30 times faster than traditional bulk material simulation tools and enabling continuous debugging.
