On June 29, 2026, BOTON Thailand Smart Manufacturing Base reached a major manufacturing milestone with the successful production of its first mass-produced ST7100 ultra-high-strength steel cord conveyor belt.
This is the highest-strength steel cord conveyor belt produced by BOTON Thailand to date, and the first time this product grade has been mass-produced at a BOTON overseas manufacturing base. The achievement marks an important step in BOTON’s global manufacturing strategy and further strengthens its ability to serve demanding bulk material handling applications worldwide.
A Milestone in High-End Conveyor Belt Manufacturing
ST7100 represents one of the most demanding strength grades in steel cord conveyor belt manufacturing. Its production requires precise control over belt thickness, cover rubber thickness, steel cord alignment, carcass structure, anti-tear reinforcement, rubber formulation, vulcanization performance and quality consistency.
The successful production of this belt at BOTON Thailand demonstrates BOTON’s integrated capability from R&D and process design to mass production and quality control. It also shows that BOTON Thailand has developed the manufacturing standards needed to support high-performance conveyor belt solutions for global mining customers.
As BOTON’s first overseas smart manufacturing base, the Thailand plant has continued to improve its process capability, production management and quality assurance system since becoming operational. The successful production of ST7100 is a strong validation of its advanced manufacturing capability.
Designed for Demanding Mining Conveyor Applications
ST7100 steel cord conveyor belts are designed for long-distance, high-tension and continuous-duty conveyor systems in large-scale mining operations.
They are typically used in critical material transport routes, including copper mines, iron ore mines, pit-to-crusher systems, stockyard conveyors, port handling systems and other heavy-load applications. In these environments, conveyor belts play a central role in maintaining production capacity, reducing unplanned downtime and improving system stability.
With the successful production of ST7100 in Thailand, BOTON is better positioned to respond to the needs of global customers operating in extreme working conditions and high-capacity material handling systems.
Turning Manufacturing Challenges into Reliable Delivery Capability
The difficulty of producing ultra-high-strength conveyor belts lies not only in product design, but also in every manufacturing process and quality detail.
To support the ST7100 production program, BOTON coordinated its R&D, production, quality, equipment, supply chain and Thailand manufacturing teams. The project covered theoretical simulation, laboratory verification, process validation, equipment adjustment, data accumulation and on-site production control.
Through this integrated approach, BOTON addressed key technical challenges including the uniformity of rubber properties in thick vulcanized products, steel cord penetration and ventilation performance, dynamic fatigue performance of steel cords, and impact resistance of the finished belt.
Product testing results exceeded relevant standard requirements, providing a strong foundation for safe, stable and reliable operation in customer applications.
Strengthening BOTON’s Global Manufacturing Network
The successful production of ST7100 at BOTON Thailand is more than a single product milestone. It represents a full-process validation of BOTON’s overseas manufacturing capability, covering process transfer, equipment coordination, quality management and production delivery.
As customer requirements continue to move toward higher strength, more complex structures and more demanding operating conditions, BOTON will continue to advance its conveyor belt technology, manufacturing processes and global service capabilities.
By deploying high-standard manufacturing capacity closer to global markets, BOTON is building a stronger foundation for supporting mining, ports, cement, metallurgy and other bulk material handling industries worldwide.
