BOTON is deepening its long-term community partnership with Yichuan County in Shaanxi Province, China, expanding its support across education, post-flood recovery and local livelihoods.
This marks the second consecutive year that BOTON has returned to Yichuan to continue its community programmes. During the latest visit, the company renewed its scholarship support for local students and, together with the Wuxi Xinwu District Charity Federation, donated RMB 100,000 to support recovery and reconstruction following flooding in August 2026.
The initiative builds on BOTON’s community engagement in Yichuan, which began in 2025 with education support and the adoption of a local apple orchard. Since then, the programme has gradually developed into a more sustained form of community partnership.

Continuing Support for Education
Education remains an important part of BOTON’s community programme in Yichuan.
Through the BOTON Zhides Education Fund, the company continues to provide scholarships to local students, helping them pursue their studies and broaden their future opportunities.
Among the 50 students who received BOTON Zhides Scholarships in 2025, 14 progressed to undergraduate-level study. Several were admitted to universities including China University of Mining and Technology, Xi’an University of Science and Technology and Xi’an International Studies University.
For BOTON, the value of the programme lies not in a one-time contribution, but in the long-term opportunities that sustained educational support can help create.
The company plans to continue the programme as an ongoing commitment, allowing new groups of students to receive support in the years ahead.

Supporting Recovery After the 2026 Floods
In August 2026, parts of Yichuan were affected by flooding. Building on its existing relationship with the local community, BOTON expanded its support to contribute to post-flood recovery.
Together with the Wuxi Xinwu District Charity Federation, BOTON donated RMB 100,000 to support local reconstruction efforts.
The response reflects an important principle behind BOTON’s approach to community engagement: long-term partnerships require not only sustained commitment, but also the ability to respond as local needs change.
Rather than treating community investment as a fixed programme, BOTON aims to build relationships that can evolve over time and provide more relevant support when communities face new challenges.

From an Apple Orchard to Local Livelihoods
BOTON’s engagement in Yichuan extends beyond education.
In 2025, the company adopted a local apple orchard, known as the BOTON Orchard, to support rural livelihoods and the development of Yichuan’s apple-growing industry.
Through its continued support for the orchard, BOTON helps provide greater income stability for local farming households while contributing to the development of one of the county’s important agricultural sectors.
The initiative also creates wider social value.
The orchard provides paid employment opportunities for people with disabilities in the local community, supporting greater participation in economic activity and more inclusive access to employment.
By connecting agricultural support, household livelihoods and inclusive employment, the initiative demonstrates how a locally rooted community programme can generate multiple forms of long-term social value.

From One-Time Support to Long-Term Community Partnership
BOTON regards community engagement as an important part of its broader approach to responsible and sustainable business.
The company publishes annual ESG reports, participates in the United Nations Global Compact and continues to integrate environmental, social and governance considerations into its operations and long-term development.
In Yichuan, this approach is reflected primarily through sustained social investment, including education support, disaster response, rural livelihood development and inclusive employment.
The programme also forms part of the broader regional cooperation between Wuxi High-tech District and Yichuan County, connecting corporate participation with wider local and regional development efforts.
For BOTON, the goal is not simply to complete an individual charitable project.
More importantly, it is to build community relationships that can continue over time.
From scholarships to post-flood recovery, and from agricultural support to inclusive employment, BOTON’s experience in Yichuan shows how sustained community engagement can create value that extends well beyond a single donation or event.
Looking ahead, BOTON will continue to support practical initiatives based on local needs, contributing to stronger and more resilient communities as part of its wider commitment to sustainability.
