BOTON Reinforces ESG Commitment by Signing Global Sustainable Development Initiative

BOTON has officially signed the Global Corporate Initiative for Building a Shared, Inclusive and Sustainable Development Environment, joining more than 30 global companies in a collective commitment to responsible business, inclusive growth and sustainable development.

The initiative was released during the High-Level Forum on Global Human Rights Governance, held in Beijing from June 11 to 12, 2026. It was jointly launched by the Institute for Global South Development and Human Rights at the University of International Business and Economics, and the UN Global Compact action platform on sustainable infrastructure supporting the Belt and Road Initiative and the acceleration of the Sustainable Development Goals.

By signing the initiative, BOTON reinforces its long-term commitment to ESG governance, global cooperation, green manufacturing and responsible industrial development.

Supporting a More Sustainable Global Business Environment

The initiative calls for a more open, stable, inclusive and sustainable environment for global development. It focuses on five key areas: strengthening international cooperation, balancing economic growth with social well-being, accelerating green transition, promoting digital inclusion and capacity building, and responding to the practical needs of developing markets.

These priorities are closely aligned with BOTON’s global development strategy and sustainability practices.

As an industrial company with international operations, BOTON recognizes that a stable, transparent and predictable business environment is essential for global investment, trade cooperation, technological innovation and responsible supply chain development.

BOTON’s Sustainability Practices Across Global Operations

BOTON’s sustainability actions are reflected across manufacturing, products, services and overseas operations.

Through the development of its Thailand manufacturing base, BOTON has advanced localized production while supporting local employment, skills development and community engagement. The facility plays an important role in BOTON’s global manufacturing network and strengthens the company’s ability to serve international customers more efficiently.

BOTON has also invested in circular economy practices. In Perth, Australia, the company has established and put into operation a recycling facility for end-of-life rubber products, supporting the reuse and recycling of industrial materials.

In addition, BOTON continues to promote local workforce development in overseas markets including Thailand, Australia and Africa. Through skills training and cross-cultural management programs, the company supports local teams in building capabilities for modern industrial and digital operations.

Advancing Responsible Supply Chain Development

Responsible supply chain management is another important part of BOTON’s ESG work.

The company continues to promote ESG evaluation and improvement among suppliers, working with upstream and downstream partners to build a safer, greener and more sustainable industrial ecosystem.

For BOTON, sustainability is not limited to products or manufacturing sites. It is a long-term system that connects product innovation, operational management, supply chain responsibility, local community engagement and customer value.

Strengthening BOTON’s Global ESG Commitment

Together with more than 30 participating companies, BOTON supports the initiative’s call for stronger policy coordination, fewer barriers to development and a better environment for long-term, responsible and mutually beneficial global cooperation.

A BOTON ESG representative said that sustainable development requires the participation of companies, communities and individuals across global value chains. BOTON will take the signing of this initiative as an opportunity to further improve its ESG governance system, promote the flow of technology, talent and resources to markets with development needs, and contribute to more balanced and sustainable global growth.

Building Greener Industrial Material Handling

As a company rooted in Wuxi with a growing global presence, BOTON remains committed to its mission of making industrial bulk material handling greener.

Looking ahead, BOTON will continue to advance green manufacturing, circular economy practices, community engagement and digital empowerment across its global operations, providing more sustainable conveyor belt and intelligent conveying solutions for customers worldwide.

BOTON Receives CDP Supplier Engagement Assessment A Rating for Climate Action

Ahead of World Environment Day, BOTON received an A rating in CDP’s Supplier Engagement Assessment, the highest rating in the assessment. This marks BOTON’s first participation in the CDP Supplier Engagement Assessment and represents another important recognition of the company’s climate action and sustainable supply chain management.

The achievement follows BOTON’s B management-level rating in the 2025 CDP Climate Change questionnaire. More importantly, the A rating in supplier engagement reflects BOTON’s progress in working with suppliers to manage climate-related risks, promote emissions reduction and build a more transparent, low-carbon and resilient supply chain.

Recognized for Supplier Climate Engagement

CDP’s Supplier Engagement Assessment evaluates how effectively companies engage their suppliers on climate-related issues. The assessment focuses on areas such as governance, climate targets, Scope 3 emissions reporting and supplier engagement actions.

Receiving an A rating indicates that BOTON has made strong progress in supplier climate governance, Scope 3 emissions management, ESG supplier audits, low-carbon procurement and supplier capability building.

For global customers and partners, this rating provides an important signal: choosing BOTON means working with a company that is not only focused on reliable conveyor belt products, but also committed to building a more responsible and sustainable supply chain.

How BOTON Advanced Its Supplier Climate Action

BOTON’s A rating is supported by a series of practical actions across supplier management, low-carbon technology development and green procurement incentives.

In supplier governance, BOTON has integrated ESG requirements into its supplier access and management system. The company released its major supply chain strategy blueprint and promoted the signing of the BOTON Supplier Code of Conduct and Integrity Agreement across its supplier base.

In 2025, BOTON carried out 65 supplier ESG training and communication sessions, covering all core suppliers. The company also completed on-site ESG audits for 43 suppliers, with a corrective action closure rate of more than 95%.

Working with Suppliers on Low-Carbon Materials

BOTON continues to work with suppliers to develop lower-carbon materials and improve product sustainability.

The company has collaborated with suppliers on bio-based materials and high-performance reinforcement materials. It also requires major raw material suppliers to provide product carbon footprint data and has integrated this information into procurement evaluation.

To improve emissions data management, BOTON has developed its own carbon management platform to support supplier carbon data collection and climate-related performance tracking.

Making Green Performance a Supplier Advantage

BOTON has also established incentive mechanisms to encourage suppliers to improve environmental performance.

The company created a Green Supplier Award to recognize partners with strong performance in energy saving, emissions reduction and waste management. In 2025, six suppliers received this recognition.

BOTON also encourages suppliers to disclose carbon emissions data and develop emissions reduction plans. Suppliers that actively disclose climate data and implement reduction measures may receive stronger procurement support.

From Operational Emissions Reduction to Value Chain Decarbonization

BOTON’s supplier engagement work is part of a broader ESG governance system covering operations, products, recycling and value chain collaboration.

In its own operations, BOTON reduced carbon emissions by 39.8% compared with the baseline year, lowered carbon emission intensity by 43.3%, and increased the share of green electricity to 50.32% in 2025.

In product development, BOTON continues to launch energy-saving conveyor belt solutions, including ultra-low rolling resistance conveyor belts, high-wear-resistant conveyor belts, aramid conveyor belts and anti-adhesion conveyor belts. These products help customers improve conveyor system efficiency, reduce energy consumption and lower lifecycle environmental impact.

In circular economy practices, BOTON has put into operation a recycling facility for end-of-life rubber products in Perth, Australia. This supports a more complete product lifecycle management system and helps advance the transition from traditional disposal to material recovery and reuse.

Building a Lower-Carbon Global Supply Chain

Supply chains are one of the most important levers for industrial decarbonization. BOTON’s CDP Supplier Engagement Assessment A rating reflects the company’s continued efforts to extend climate action beyond its own operations and into the broader value chain.

World Environment Day is only one day each year, but BOTON’s green transformation is a long-term commitment.

Looking ahead, BOTON will continue to work with suppliers, customers and global partners to build a more transparent, low-carbon and resilient supply chain. Through responsible procurement, sustainable conveyor belt solutions, circular economy practices and ESG governance, BOTON aims to support greener industrial bulk material handling worldwide.
